Ocean views from sweeping lawns and sheltered places in the woods out of the wind provide cozy cover while you drink from a thermos of something warm.

Farandnear
Take them to Paradise, a parcel of land where huge hemlocks grow,  listening for sounds of winter birds playing in the branches above.

Lowell Holly
Great place for a doggy date, pup-friendly trails, and sandy freshwater beach. Red berries could be on display amongst the groves of American holly trees, Ilex opaca.
