Diversity, Belonging, Inclusion, and Equity

Diversity, Belonging, Inclusion, and Equity at The Trustees

Our commitment to Diversity, Belonging, Inclusion, and Equity (DBIE) is deeply grounded in the Trustees’ mission to protect and share Massachusetts’ iconic places - for the simple reason that nature and culture can soothe the soul and improve our lives. Not for some. But for everyone. Forever. Our overarching DBIE vision is to create inclusive spaces of belonging for Trustees staff, members, volunteers, and communities across our organization and 120 plus properties. Realizing this vision, bringing to life the essence of creating inclusive spaces where everyone feels welcome is a journey. A journey for us as an organization and for each of us as individuals. As we share our aspirations for what we can achieve on this journey, we also acknowledge this is a long-term commitment that requires continuous learning, growth, and improvement.

We are working hard to ensure that everyone can enjoy the places we care for, and we continue to create solutions for accessibility. Today we offer accessible trails and other features at some properties, as well as adaptive equipment at certain locations.

Free or Reduced Admission

While many of the Trustees properties are free and open to the public, some properties, parking, and programs have a fee associated with them. The Trustees offers free or reduced admission to many of these properties for veterans, active military, seniors, and economically disadvantaged individuals and families. We offer several programs to allow free admission to our cultural sites and properties.
