Please review OSV regulations and restrictions on this page for more information on access.
Take your truck oversand adventure on Martha’s Vineyard. With thousands of acres of open space to explore, you can find your own peaceful spot for fishing, nature viewing, beach exploration, swimming, or a family adventure. Over-Sand Vehicle permits need to be purchased online in advance.
All OSV permits purchased online will be available for pick-up at the Islands Regional Office, 860 State Road, Vineyard Haven on Thursdays and Fridays from 9 AM to 5 PM. You can also pick up your permit at the Mytoi gatehouse starting May 27, 2023. Please check each property’s webpage for hours and directions.
Your OSV permit does not guarantee access. Access for Oversand Vehicles is limited to nesting protected shorebirds and conditions of the beach itself including trail flooding, inundation and erosion. There are no refunds for OSV passes due to closures and limited hours due to The Trustees implementation of state and federal regulations to protect listed shorebirds. Follow us on Facebook, Instagram, and Twitter for regular beach updates. We appreciate your membership and helping us to protect this precious resource.
When picking up your stickers, please be sure to bring your e-mail confirmation and oversand vehicle with you. The stickers will be affixed to your vehicle at that time. Vehicles not bearing both stickers (front and back bumper on the same vehicle) are invalid. Replacements for lost and misplaced stickers will not be issued. If you decide to change vehicles (i.e. you’ve sold the vehicle, the vehicle is in the shop, etc.) please remember to remove both stickers and bring them with you to request a re-issue. Even if the permits are damaged or torn up into small pieces, that’s okay – we just need physical evidence that they are no longer in use!
