Frequently Asked Questions (FAQ’s)

Why does Naumkeag have different parking zones? Additional parking has been added downtown to provide access for more guests. Look for tickets in the other zones if none are available in your preferred area on the date/time you would like to attend.

How do Naumkeag’s parking zones work? Each zone will have a staff member to check you in and its own shuttle pickup every 5–10 minutes from 5–7:45PM. The last return shuttle to downtown will depart Naumkeag at 8:45PM when the property closes.

Are the sites wheelchair or stroller accessible? Due to terrain conditions, neither site is wheelchair or stroller accessible, and may be difficult to access for guests with limited mobility. Event pathways include sets of stairs, sections with a running slope greater than 5 degrees, uneven surfaces, and uncompacted surface material. For any questions about accessibility, please reach out to tickets@thetrustees.org.

Can I change my date or time? We cannot accommodate date or time changes. Tickets are non-refundable and non-transferable across dates.

What happens if I show up early or late for my entry time? Please check in within 15 minutes of your designated time slot. Early/Late arrivals may need to wait to accommodate those with correct timed tickets.

What should I wear? Both events are outdoors, so dress appropriately for the weather that day. Be prepared to walk along unpaved pathways on uneven terrain which may be muddy or icy at times.

What is the weather policy? Both are rain-or-shine events. However, unsafe or extreme weather will cancel that day’s event. If we must cancel due to weather, guests will be notified by email and will receive further information regarding a refund or rebook (when applicable).

Will there be concessions or a gift shop? Retail shops and concession stands with snacks and hot drinks will be open at both events.

Are dogs allowed? No, dogs are not allowed at either property during these events.

How long does it take to walk through? Expect to spend about an hour walking around.

Will restrooms be available? Yes, restrooms will be available for guests.

Is the historic home open during the event? Long Hill’s interior will be closed while Naumkeag’s first floor and gift shop will remain open to visitors.

Can we tailgate? To ensure the safety of all our visitors, tailgating is strictly prohibited.

Are the pumpkins real? The majority are foam “Funkins” which you can learn more about—alongside our other sustainability practices—here.
