Open fields and clusters of farm buildings make up a scenic, pastoral landscape and rare treasure within the Greater Boston area. With a history of active agricultural use dating back more than 300 years, the farm remains an invaluable cultural resource today. The Trustees continues that legacy through a community supported agriculture (CSA) program based on the property, along with a vibrant barnyard, farm store, teaching kitchen, culinary program, summer camp, and year-round public programming.
Our CSA program provides a way to eat locally and experience a “taste” of farm life. You can support local farms and local food by joining our CSA at Powisset. Vegetable CSAs feature fresh, local, organic produce from June to October, and seasonal meat CSAs include 100% grass-fed beef and lamb and pasture-raised pork and chicken. During your visit, stroll down the farm lane, say hello to the barnyard animals, and admire the rows of vegetables and herbs. Take the loop trail beyond the cultivated land to an upland oak forest, a pair of brooks, vernal pools, and wooded wetlands, and gaze across furrowed croplands and thick hayfields attracting white-tailed deer, wild turkeys, and grassland-nesting bobolinks. Mowed trails through the hay fields link to the adjacent, 1,200-acre Hale Reservation, while Noanet Woodlands is situated across the street.

From I-95/Rt. 128: Exit 31B onto Rt. 109 West. Follow for less than 1 mile and take a right on Dover Rd. Follow for 2.5 miles. Take left into farm immediately after big gray barn. Farm office is on ground floor, underneath barn.
From Medfield Center: Take Rt. 109 east, take left onto Hartford St. Follow for 1.5 mi. and take left onto Walpole St. Follow for 0.75 mi. and take right onto Powisset St. After 0.25 mi., take right immediately before big gray barn. Farm office is on ground floor, underneath barn.
Please follow the signs and park in the lot on the right side of the driveway. When exiting, please follow signs for the one-way exit, passing the pond and up the small hill out to Powisset Street.

Originally 188-acres were purchased from the Executors of the Amelia Peabody Estate in 1985. 33 acres sold to the town of Dover as permanent conservation land and another 33 acres that were not essential to the farm operation were sold as a limited development. In 1989 the farmland was transferred to The Trustees and opened as a reservation in June 2008.
The fields in the front have been transformed into a working farm -- a CSA. Vegetables of every description, enthusiastic volunteers and members/customers. Hidden away in the back are large fields, excellent for riding or walking. Add this farm hike onto your visit to Noanet (Woodlands) across the street.
