Q: Tell us about yourself. How old are you? What do you like to do in your spare time?A: I am 10 years old, I like to read, play with friends, and hike in my spare time

Q: How did you start hiking? And how old were you?A: When the pandemic started back in 2020, we started hiking because it was safest thing to do, and a great way to spend the time when everything else was shut down. I was 7 at that time.

Q: You seem to really have a love of hiking and exploring. Tell us what you like about it.A: Hiking and exploring keeps me and my family healthy, gives us fresh air, plus it’s cool to see and hear things in nature.

Q: What tips do you have for kids who might want to start hiking and just don’t know where to begin?A: Check out some of the local hiking places. You will be surprised by how many there are in the Greater Boston area once you start looking. Go hike with friends. The more the merrier!

Q: Do you have any tips in general for kids and parents who want to hike?A: Plan ahead of time! Pack essentials such as water, snacks, compass, map. And have fun!

Q: The Trustees Quest is an outdoor, self-guided scavenger hunt on Trustees Properties that is designed for kids and families. We loved your Trustees Quest videos where you documented how you navigated the Quest! What would you tell kids and parents about the Trustees Quest?A: The Trustees Quest is fun and I really love the rhyming clues! At the end you get a digital badge that you can print out. The Trustees Quest took us to different parts of the state including Rock House, It’s a really neat place that I wouldn’t have even known about if it wasn’t for the Trustees Quest.

Q: Do you have a Trustees property that you’d recommend for a kid who wants to do a beginner hike?A: Some easy ones are Halibut Point or Long Hill.

Q: What’s your favorite Trustees property to hike and why?A: Some of my favorites are Rocky Woods and Monument Mountain but my ultimate favorite is Rock House.

Q: Anything we’ve missed that you think kids and parents should know about hiking?A: Everyone can do it and you can hike year round as long as you are dressed appropriately! Pack some essentials and get out in nature and have fun!
