The Rocky Woods camping experience offers weekend/holiday camping in a safe environment, without having to venture far from home.The property is home to 15 walk-in campsites, with amenities that include bathrooms, a dish sink,outdoor showers and a few camping essentials for purchase.
Holiday weekends include: Memorial Day, 4th of July, Labor Day & Indigenous Peoples Day.
Price includes 4 campers – $10 per additional person.
6 person maximum (2 tents) at each campsite.

Sites 1-10: Family Friendly sites close to the pond and Visitor Center
Sites 11-15: Newer ‘backcountry’ campsites for the more experienced, tucked deeper in the forest for a quiet, more intimate camping experience.
Visitors that do not arrive or call by 8pm on the first day of their reservation are not eligible for a refund and are not guaranteed their site.
For cancellations made 14 days or less before arrival, no refunds are given. This includes no reservation changes under 14 days out.
For cancellations made 15 days or more before arrival, a $20 processing fee will be kept, and the remainder will be refunded or credited towards a different reservation in that season only.
Things to do:
Rent a canoe or kayak from the Visitor Center or cast a fishing line from the shore. Boat Rental pricing is $20 an hour- Open Saturday and Sunday morning.
Hike the three-quarter-mile loop around Chickering Pond—the largest of the reservation’s five man-made ponds for a fun family outing. Feeling adventurous, take the Mine Hill Loop along the 420-foot-high Mine Hill Ridge or summit Cedar Hill for the tree top views.
Visit Powisset Farm nearby to hike, see farm animals, and purchase goods from the farm store.
