Long Point Beach Cottage
Once the former Tisbury Duck Hunting Club, this cottage has amazing views of the Long Point Wildlife Refuge.
The four bedroom camp-style, single level home offers a unique chance of vacationing on preservation land, and taking advantage of all the location has to offer. A canoe launch is steps away (two provided), and the south shore beach is a wonderful 10 minute walk surrounded by beauty and nature every step of the way. Vistas abound from the living room, porch, and yard giving a peaceful feel, and the perfect way to unwind and enjoy a vacation.
With this unique property, Long Point Wildlife Refuge beckons from your front door, and whether you want to play in the ocean, splash with the kids in sheltered salt- and freshwater ponds, or explore a rare grassland habitat, this spectacular reservation will become a favorite escape.
At more than 600 acres, Long Point is one of the largest publicly accessible properties on Martha’s Vineyard. The fact that it encompasses beach, dune, and woodland, which bracket a broad (and uncommon) sandplain heath, makes the reservation even more attractive, environmentally and recreationally.
Understandably popular in summer, the property is also an off-season treasure, especially for birders and other nature-watchers. For visitors to the cottage, two canoes are provided on-site, and a launch is just steps away from the property.
Looking for some sun and surf? The south shore beach is a wonderful 10 minute walk surrounded by beauty and nature every step of the way. Inside the property vistas abound from the living room, porch, and yard, for the perfect way to unwind.
