Portrait Photography
Certain Trustees properties are available for portrait photography sessions (any posed or candid portraiture of individuals by professional or amateur photographers, including scheduled shoots for engagements, families, maternity, proms, graduations, Quinceañeras, and more).
Photographs may not be commercial in nature or resold for commercial purposes. Wedding photography is not permitted at all properties, and Mini Sessions are not permitted at any properties. Professional portrait photography is not permitted at our museum properties: deCordova Sculpture Park and Museum and Fruitlands Museum.
Permits are required for portrait photography sessions at certain properties, and others require direct permission. Before purchasing a permit or requesting permission, please review the full portrait photography rules and regulations.
Photographers or their clients must be Family Level Trustees Members to purchase portrait session permits for use at the properties listed below. Permit purchase fees for these properties support our mission, and allow us to maintain these special places. Click on your desired property below to purchase a portrait session permit for that property:

- Eleanor Cabot Bradley Estate, Canton
- Doyle Community Park, Leominster
- Governor Oliver Ames Estate, North Easton
- Stevens-Coolidge House and Gardens, North Andover

For all other properties, we ask that photographers or their clients become Contributing Level Members before conducting portrait sessions. Membership supports our mission, and allows us to maintain all of our special places. After becoming Contributing Level Members, photographers or clients can request permission at no additional charge. Please make requests at least 7–10 business days in advance of your desired date.
Film Shoots and Commercial Photography
The Trustees has many unique locations available to professionals for a wide variety of projects, including but not limited to film, television, advertising, documentary, and video (including Vimeo, TikTok, YouTube, and other platforms).
Such requests require permission, which is determined on an individual basis. Please complete this APPLICATION to submit your request.
Drone Photography
Drone usage is not permitted on most Trustees properties and is only allowed at some properties on a very limited, monitored basis. Requests for drone photography should be submitted by email to portraitphotography@thetrustees.org.
Our Right to Photograph Visitors
The Trustees of Reservations reserves the right, and may give permission to its designated photographers and videographers, or to outside media, to photograph or video visitors and program participants at all its facilities and properties. These photos and videos are for promotional purposes and may be used in future publications, marketing, and media communications.
By utilizing Trustees properties or by participating in Trustees programs and events, you consent to the taking and publication of your photograph and video for these purposes. If we have used a photo or video of you that you would prefer not to have used, please contact us by email at marketing@thetrustees.org requesting that we remove the image, and we will be happy to take the photo or video down from our website and not use the photo in future print publications. Please be sure to fully describe the page and image, so we can identify it correctly.
