Founders Circle

The strength of The Trustees comes from our Founders Circle.

The Founders Circle is more than just a giving society—it is a fellowship of like-minded people who carry on the legacy of our founder, Charles Eliot, who believed it was imperative that fresh air, scenic beauty, and places for rest and recreation be made available to everyone, forever.

Thank you from our President & CEO

Thanks for your support

In 1891, Charles Eliot founded The Trustees on the idea that all people deserve access to the beauty and life-enriching qualities of nature. Since then, generations of Trustees members have built a legacy of permanently protected landscapes, celebrated cultural and historic treasures, and healthy, close-knit communities.

Our work is all about you–the people who bring our extraordinary places to life. With your annual leadership support, you continue a long tradition of providing vital open space to the public, Just as many dedicated individuals helped build The Trustees into the nonprofit leader we are today, your investment now will be the foundation of our future.

Half of all Massachusetts residents live within five miles of a Trustees property and all the wonder found within. The steadfast support of our Founders Circle is what makes this possible.

I am proud of what we have accomplished together, but there is still much to be done. As national conservation leaders, we must keep working to protect our threatened landscapes, respond to a changing climate, uplift marginalized voices, and reach new and diverse audiences. We need you, our most dedicated donors and friends, to continue leading the way. Together, we will improve the quality of life for our communities and engage, delight, and inspire people for years to come.
