Gift of Membership
With more than 120 properties across the state to explore, a gift membership is perfect for the nature lover in your life. Whether it is hiking, birdwatching, visiting historic homes, or soaking in the sun at a Trustees beach, there is something for every explorer on your list. Membership benefits include a 10 percent discount at Trustees stores and online, free or reduced admission to properties, and discounted admission to events and programs.
Shop The Trustees Online
If you cannot make it to one of The Trustees’ gift shops, The Trustees’ online store at shopthetrustees.org is a great option. Its Holiday Gift Guide features several items including ornaments, books, soaps, toys, and home goods. You can also purchase Trustees-branded gear, featuring New England brands SKIDA and Steele Canvas. One hundred percent of the proceeds support The Trustees’ mission. Members can get a 10 percent discount using the code MEMBER during checkout.
Gift and Farm Shops
At deCordova Sculpture Park and Museum in Lincoln, shoppers will find fine arts, crafts, and jewelry from local artists, plus an extensive array of educational and creative gifts for kids of all ages. Shoppers should tell the attendant at the admissions booth they are there to shop at the museum store, as admission tickets are not required to visit the store.
Fruitlands Museum in Harvard offers gifts related to the historic collections of the museum, including handmade art and jewelry from local artists. Fruitlands also has a selection of books related to the historical and philosophical roots of the region, as well as a selection of fun toys for children.
At Castle Hill at the Crane Estate in Ipswich, shoppers will find vintage-inspired jewelry, accessories, art, and gifts for the home. Books related to the history of Castle Hill and the Crane family are also available, along with seasonal ornaments and quality children’s toys.
While at Castle Hill, slip down to the Crane Beach store to shop branded apparel, totes, and beach towels, along with an array of natural and sustainable beauty products.
At the Old Manse in Concord, discover a selection of books related to the history, literature, and philosophy related to the house. There is also a collection of locally made crafts to peruse.
The Trustees also offer two farm stores – Appleton Farms in Ipswich and Powisset Farm in Dover – with a selection of edible gifts ranging from Trustees-grown produce, meat, and eggs, as well as a variety of local and organic foods from regional producers.
Artisan Markets
The Trustees’ farm stores will host artisan markets in December. On Friday, Dec. 6, visit Appleton Farms in Ipswich to shop at the Winter Night Market in its Carriage Barn featuring Appleton’s Farm Store, along with other local edible products and gifts from area artisans, crafters, and producers of fine foods.
In December, Powisset Farm in Dover will offer Holiday Happenings, featuring senior and ugly sweater discount days, curated gift baskets with a personal shopper, and a variety of sampling events, along with the store’s wide selection of locally made seasonal foods and gifts. Holiday Happenings occurs every Thursday through Sunday until Dec. 22.
The Gift of Getaways
The Trustees has two properties that are operated as inns – the Inn at Castle Hill in Ipswich and the Guest House at Field Farm in Williamstown.
The Inn at Castle Hill is set in the heart of the Crane Estate, with 10 well-appointed rooms many featuring views of the salt marshes and Atlantic Ocean. The Inn offers simple, but luxurious, pleasures. Gift certificates for the Inn can be purchased online or by calling 978-412-2555.
The Guest House at Field Farm offers striking views of Mount Greylock, Massachusetts’ highest peak, while immersing guests in the Mid-Century Modern experience of the guest house.
