About Berry Tart or Pie with Chef Melissa McCullough
Explore the world of pastry doughs and discover the best uses for each variety in this hands-on baking class. Melissa will share expert tips and techniques for creating beautiful pies and tarts from start to finish. Participants will learn how to make flaky homemade crusts, choose the best fruits for baking, assemble a double-crust pie, and even create an impressive lattice top.
Each participant will make their own pie or tart to take home and enjoy.

Chef Melissa is a trained culinary professional with a passion for sharing the joys of cooking with others. Chef Melissa is fueled by the creativity and artistry that exists within the culinary world. With a deep-rooted connection to the land, fostered by spending every summer on Martha’s Vineyard, she embraces the beauty of farm to table cuisine celebrating the bounty each season brings. Chef Melissa looks forward to working together in the kitchen this summer at Katama Farm!

Program Refunds/Cancellations: In the event that a program is cancelled due to severe weather, low enrollment, or other circumstances, we will notify you as soon as possible by email and issue you a full refund within 14 days of the cancellation. If you cannot attend a program as planned, contact thefarminstitute@thetrustees.org at least 7 days prior to the start of the program to receive a full refund or transfer to another date/class. Refunds and/or class transfers will not be granted for registration cancellations placed fewer than 7 days before the start of the program. There are no refunds for missed classes.
