About Taste the Seasons – Summer Mixology

Taste the season and explore our gardens in the first of our three part mixology program! Stay tuned for future dates for the coming seasons.

Join us for the summer rendition of Taste the Seasons. Explore Rutland Washington Community Garden, also known as Gazebo Garden, and learn about summery drinks made with native and garden grown plants!

Participants will explore ways in which garden-inspired ingredients can be paired in mixed drinks, learn techniques for preparing a variety of blends, and gain insight into the growing and background of botanicals. The program concludes with a tasting of several mixes, with mocktails available.

This class will be led by Brandie, who is a local herbalist and mixologist of 10 years. Her journey began in 2016 with a 9 month Apprenticeship, Seed Root and Bloom, an all BIPOC program in Roxbury, MA. She has been a student at Blackbird’s Daughter in NH, Connecting With The Living Land in Canton, MA on Muddy River Herbals Farm and now the Biregional Herbal Immersion program with Mo Katz Christy in Lexington MA. She has been the BIPOC Coordinator with Herbstalk, a local herbalism org, for 2 years. Brandie has a passion for showing people that everyone can use plants as medicine on their wellness journey and in their every day life.

Rutland Washington is known for its high-end flower displays of unique varieties, immaculate pathways, and views of historical brownstones. Seating and shade are available at the central gazebo.

The venue is accessible via Mass Ave on the Orange Line and Commuter Rail or Symphony on the Green Line approximately a 15 minute walk away.

The program will be outdoors so please come dressed for the weather. Please inform the workshop leader about any food allergies.
