Learn about harvesting, storing and preparing local oysters and clams. Chef Charlie Granquist from Slough Farm will teach you how to cook classic New England dishes like Oysters Rockefeller and Clams Casino. Shellfish will be paired with sides harvested from the farm and enjoyed as a family meal. Program geared toward caregiver and child pairs.
This program series is a collaborative effort between MV Shellfish Group, The Farm Institute, and Slough Farm. The aim of the series is to connect aquaculture to agriculture and to increase access to local shellfish. A special thank you to the Edgartown Shellfish Dept. for their support of shellfish outreach and education. This program is free of charge thanks to these partners.
This is an adult/child partner program and children cannot be dropped off. Best geared for children ages 5 & up.
Pre-registration is required for all Farm Institute cooking classes. Please contact us with any allergy or food restriction questions at lbrown@thetrustees.org or if you’d like to join as a member and receive discounted programming.
