From Pier to Park

From Pier to Park

With deep and growing roots in Boston, The Trustees is now working to build a series of resilient and welcoming parks around Boston’s harbor—starting with Piers Park III in East Boston. Planning is underway with local neighborhood groups, City officials, and others, as we work to ensure that this new open space is welcoming for all, and honors the rich cultural fabric of adjacent communities.

Cultivate Community

Cultivate Community

We are the largest owner of community gardens in Boston, with 56 sites across 8 neighborhoods. These local gathering spaces connect people and generate a lot of food: 1,600 Trustees plots feed an estimated 8,000 people, plus the thousands who receive donations from individual gardeners. Gardening workshops, live music, and more bring these places to life—all are invited.

Food Access

Food Access

Healthy, fresh food options aren’t a fact of life for everyone in every neighborhood. The Trustees Mobile Market is working to fill that gap, providing affordable access to locally grown, organic produce for our neighbors most in need. It brings food directly from three of our certified organic farms in eastern Massachusetts. We serve people in Boston and Cambridge and accept food assistance programs like SNAP/EBT and HIP.
