Founders Circle Summer Events Roundup

As the summer kicks into high gear, there’s no shortage of exciting events, programs, and more taking place at our 122 special places across Massachusetts. Whether it’s stargazing in the Berkshires, an outdoor art exhibition at Fruitlands Museum, or a kayak tour of World’s End, our events calendar is chock full of things to do at Trustees properties this summer.

Beyond our regular programs and events schedule, we also offer numerous special events for Founders Circle members like you, in appreciation of your year-round dedication to The Trustees.

Read on to learn about our upcoming Founders Circle events happening across the state this summer.

Armstrong-Kelley Park Grand Re-Opening
If you’re on the Cape, join us on Wednesday, Aug. 2 for the grand re-opening of Armstrong-Kelley Park in Osterville, the oldest and largest privately owned park open to the public on Cape Cod.

Acquired by The Trustees in 2021 after a joint fundraising campaign with the Cape Cod Horticultural Society, which had owned and maintained the park since the 1930s, the 8.5-acre park became our first new property on Cape Cod in more than a decade.

Since acquiring the park, we have made numerous property improvements, including a redesigned central gathering green, more accessible and ADA-compliant walking paths, an expanded water garden, and an improved parking area—all while maintaining the historic charm and character of this beloved community park.

Great Point Circle Celebration
If you’re one of our Great Point Circle members on Nantucket, we hope you can join us for our annual summer celebration on Thursday, Aug. 17!

In addition to spending a relaxing day in the sun, you can learn more about what The Trustees is doing to enhance the resilience of the Coskata-Coatue Wildlife Refuge, including the new documentary we created with the Nantucket Conservation Foundation, “Coskata-Coatue: A Refuge on the Edge.”

You can learn more about the documentary and watch the trailer for it here on our website. On Aug. 24, The Trustees and Nantucket Conservation Foundation are offering a free screening of the film, followed by a panel discussion, at the Dreamland Theatre.

One Waterfront Gala
If you live or work in Boston, join us at our fifth annual One Waterfront Gala on Thursday, Sept. 7! Friends, supporters, local business leaders, and public officials will come together to celebrate our progress and discuss the future of One Waterfront.

The Trustees launched its Boston Waterfront Initiative, One Waterfront, to advance a bold vision for iconic open space on the Boston Waterfront. At this year’s Gala we will celebrate our progress toward the creation of our new park, Piers Park III, which will provide inclusive, resilient, and iconic open space to the public, and a world-class waterfront destination to East Boston.

Party on the Farm

And if you’re on the South Shore, join us for our Party on the Farm at Weir River Farm in Hingham on Saturday, Sept. 9. Guests will enjoy cocktails and light refreshments as they stroll the sprawling 75-acre property at sunset. Proceeds from the event will support programming and stewardship at Weir River Farm and our surrounding South Shore properties.

If you can’t make it on Sept. 9, there are numerous events happening at the farm this summer and early fall. Take a painting class overlooking pastoral beauty, join a local mycologist for a mushroom hike, or bring the kids to one of our popular Open Barnyard or Enchanted Forest events. Many events also have sensory-friendly offerings, as Weir River Farm has partnered with Autism Alliance to become a sensory responsive property.

Finally, be sure to join us at our 132nd Annual Meeting on Thursday, Nov. 2 to learn about the accomplishments we’ve made throughout the year and to hear about where we’re headed for the future. For a full listing of our upcoming special events, visit our Founders Circle events page and be on the lookout for more information about our fall events, like Halloween on the Hill at Long Hill and the Incredible Naumkeag Pumpkin Show.

Thank you again for your support of The Trustees as a member of the Founders Circle. We hope to see you soon at an event near you!
