Why are there different parking zones? Parking is off-site to provide access for more guests. Look for tickets in another zone if none are available in your preferred area on the date/time you would like to attend.
How do the parking zones work? Each zone will have a staff member check you in and a shuttle pickup every 5–10 minutes from 5–8PM. The last return shuttle will depart Naumkeag at 9PM when the property closes.
Can I drop people off at Naumkeag’s Main Gate? No, except for ticket holders to Early Hours, all Naumkeag guests are required to take a shuttle bus to the property which can be picked up at your designated parking zone check-in location.
What is new with the expanded Early Hours? New this year, we are offering two daytime arrival slots of 12PM or 2PM on Saturdays and Sundays. Guests with these tickets may stay for two hours maximum, letting you enjoy the show and the garden’s beauty at your own pace. It’s a perfect option for garden enthusiasts, families, or anyone seeking a quieter, more peaceful experience. In contrast, 4-5PM Early Hour ticket holders overlap with both daylight and evening hours, allowing you to enjoy the transition from day to night.
Is the property wheelchair or stroller accessible? Due to terrain conditions, Naumkeag is not wheelchair or stroller accessible, and may be difficult to access for guests with limited mobility. Event pathways include sets of stairs, sections with a running slope greater than 5 degrees, uneven surfaces, and uncompacted surface material. For any questions about accessibility, please reach out to tickets@thetrustees.org.
Can I change my date or time? We cannot accommodate date or time changes. Tickets are non-refundable and non-transferable across dates.
What happens if I show up early or late for my entry time? Please check in within 15 minutes of your designated time slot. Early/Late arrivals may need to wait to accommodate those with correctly timed tickets.
What should I wear? The show is outdoors, so dress appropriately for the weather that day. Be prepared to walk along unpaved pathways or uneven terrain which may be muddy or icy at times.
What is the weather policy? The show will occur rain or shine. Only unsafe or extreme weather may cancel that day’s event. You will be notified by email and receive further refund information if a weather cancellation is necessary.
Will there be concessions or a gift shop? Yes, the retail shop and a concession stand with snacks and hot drinks will be open.
Are dogs allowed? No, dogs are not allowed.
How long does it take to walk through? Expect to spend about an hour walking around.
Will restrooms be available? Yes, restrooms will be available.
Are the historic homes open during the events? Naumkeag’s first floor (and gift shop) will remain open for visitors.
Can we tailgate? To ensure everyone’s safety, tailgating is strictly prohibited.
Are the pumpkins real? While many at Naumkeag are locally grown, there are also foam “Funkins” which you can learn more about—alongside other sustainability practices—here.
