Celebrate the beauty of the season at Fruitlands Museum with a day inspired by feathers, flight, and fall color celebrating the global birding event, October Big Day.
We are excited to partner with three different birding organizations on this exciting day!
At 10–11:30AM, the Boxborough Birders will be leading a guided bird walk along the Fruitlands trails, discovering the vibrant birdlife that calls this landscape home. Please meet guides in front of the Museum Admission Building.
Tap into your creative side with drop-in artmaking at our Wayside Gallery between 11:30AM-12:30PM and 2:30-3:30PM. Using leaves, feathers, and other natural materials, you will create one-of-a-kind monoprints that capture the spirit of the season.
The highlight of the day takes place at 1PM, when Monadnock Falconry brings beautiful birds of prey to the Museum grounds outside our historic Farmhouse. Get an up-close look at these extraordinary hunters and learn about the essential roles they play in our ecosystems.
All tickets to this seasonal celebration also includes admission to Fruitlands’ historic houses, Shaker and Transcendentalist collections, and art galleries. It is the perfect way to welcome autumn, through nature, art, and the awe of seeing a falcon take flight against the hills of Harvard, Massachusetts.
