Things to do This Weekend

Looking for something to do in Massachusetts this weekend? Here are some highlights across the state.

Welcome to the weekend! Join us across the state for Trustees programs and events.

Hear from the curators this weekend! Join The Trustees Associate Curator of Native American Art, Tess Lukey (Aquinnah Wampanoag), for a Spotlight Talk in the Wayside Gallery at Fruitlands Museum. Tess will share an artwork from the new exhibit Eye of the Beholder. The show brings together objects from across Clara Endicott Sears’ collecting interests, spanning folk art and landscape painting, Shaker objects, and objects from Indigenous Tribes across the country. At The Mission House in Stockbridge, join Mark Wilson, Director of Historic Collections, for a special curator tour focused on life in Revolutionary Stockbridge and uncover a powerful chapter in history.

Head to the farm for fun! At Appleton Farms in Ipswich and Hamilton, have Coffee with the Cows! Celebrate summer with this special hike to visit the Appleton cow and calf herd (coffee and pastries provided). Weir River Farm in Hingham offers Sensory-Friendly Barnyard Hours this weekend. At Powisset Farm in Dover, help with morning farm chores. And at The FARM Institute on Martha’s Vineyard, enjoy a morning at Barnyard Buddies.

It’s a wonderful weekend to visit Naumkeag in Stockbridge. Events range from the Spill The Tea lecture series, on The Life and Times of Joseph Choate, to a guided house tour, garden tour, and meditation in the gardens.

Free events will take place at Ryan’s Playground in Boston and Franklin Field in Dorchester in partnership with DCR. These nature play events will be themed around plant power.
