Looking for something to do in Massachusetts this weekend? Here are some highlights across the state.
Halloween on the Hill and the Incredible Naumkeag Pumpkin Show are in full swing at Long Hill in Beverly and Naumkeag in Stockbridge. Don’t miss these signature events and other fall fun on offer across the state.
This weekend’s fun includes an extra day of events in recognition of Indigenous Peoples Day, this Monday.
Fall fun isn’t limited to our signature pumpkin shows! With farms across the state, there’s autumn celebrations around every corner. At Powisset Farm in Dover, enjoy a classic New England fall day at the farm featuring a plethora of autumn activities. The Farm Store is open during the event, and full of seasonal goodies!
Boo in the Barnyard returns to Weir River Farm in Hingham. Wear your costume and meet Petunia the pig, Betty the sheep, Pepper the goat, and many more barnyard friends, among other fall activities. There is a dedicated sensory-friendly hour for those seeking a quieter environment as well. The farm isn’t only for the kids, though! Also at Weir River Farm this weekend is Adults Only! Afternoon on the Farm. Enjoy a crisp hard cider or a classic apple cider as you stroll the barnyard and meet our friendly animals. Play lawn games, roast marshmallows by the fire, and unwind with seasonal crafts and cozy farm vibes.
It’s going to be a great weekend to get outside. At Fruitlands Museum in Harvard, celebrate the beauty of the season with Flying into Fall, a day inspired by feathers, flight, and fall color celebrating the Global birding event October Big Day. We are excited to partner with three different birding organizations on this exciting day! Take a Beginner’s Outdoor Exploration & Skill-Building Workshop at Weir River Farm in Hingham. And at Crane Beach in Ipswich, join us to enjoy a guided hike with sunset views while also viewing the “wicked high tide” or king tide cover the marshes and coastline around The Crane Estate.
On Monday, join the CraneExplorers: Corn Husk Creations program, at the Crane Estate in Ipswich to celebrate Indigenous People’s Day by learning about indigenous culture. Crane Estate educators will share stories and a craft learned from our collaborator Anne Jennison, traditional Native American storyteller and historian of European and Abenaki heritage. At Chesterfield Gorge in Chesterfield, partner Adventure East offers a fall foliage hike, and at deCordova Sculpture Park and Museum in Lincoln, enjoy yoga in nature, or bring the family for family yoga.
