About Tree Peony Weekend

Celebrate the short and spectacular bloom of Naumkeag’s tree peonies during a special weekend on May 16 and 17. For just a brief window each spring, these stunning flowers burst into bloom, filling the gardens with color, fragrance, and dramatic blossoms that last only a few days. Please note: while we are predicting that the peonies will be blooming this weekend based on years past, we cannot guarantee the quality or quantity of blooms.

Guests are invited to stroll the gardens at their own pace and enjoy the blooms while exploring Naumkeag’s beautiful landscape, from the iconic Blue Steps to the sweeping terraces and garden rooms throughout the property.

Please note that the historic house will be closed and only the gardens will be open. A special Tea with the Tree Peonies will also be taking place on site, but tea reservations are sold separately and are not included with this garden admission ticket.

This is a wonderful opportunity to experience the gardens in late spring and catch the tree peonies at their peak—an unforgettable sight that only happens once a year.
