About Winter Wildlife Tracking in Whitney and Thayer Woods

Join us on the trails of Whitney and Thayer Woods and adjoining Weir River Farm to learn animal tracking basics and identification skills! You’ll discover how to investigate the trail for footprints, scat, burrows, and other signs left behind by wildlife, and experience the outdoors in a new way. Bring your sharp senses and observation skills for this learning adventure. No Snow? No Problem! Even when there isn’t snow on the ground, the winter is a great time to track animals! Not all “animal tracks” are simple pawprints. By reading the forest around us we can take a glimpse into the wild world of what it takes for woodland creatures to survive a hard winter.

Dress in warm layers, warm boots, hat and mittens. Bring track guides and binoculars if you have them. This program is appropriate for adults and families. This program will take approximately 90 minutes.

Pre-registration is required for this event.

This program may be cancelled in the event of dangerous weather. In the event of cancellation, you will be notified via the email address you used to register and refunded in full within 14 business days. Tickets are non-transferable and non-refundable.

We love our furry friends, however, as this is a working farm with animals, dogs are not permitted on the property.

This program will meet by the kiosk in the lot located across from the Studio at 140 Turkey Hill Lane in Hingham.
