Winter is a wonderful opportunity to observe the secrets of the woods. With the dense summer canopy gone, the forest reveals the untold stories of the landscape.
Will we see carved rocks, a pinecone buffet, nests high up in a tree, or cozy dens? What does it take for an animal to survive the winter? If we look carefully, the forest will show us!
This hike will take place with or without snow cover. In the event of heavy snow accumulation, snowshoes will be available for participants to use on the hike. Please wear appropriate clothing for cold weather hiking. The hike loop will be determined based on trail conditions and other factors. Please be advised that some Rocky Wood trails pass over uneven terrain with some minor elevation gain. All children must be accompanied by an adult. While Rocky Woods is a dog friendly space, no dogs are allowed on our group hikes.
Recommended for ages 7+. Children must be accompanied by an adult.
