About Halloween on the Hill 2025

This October, the gardens at Long Hill come alive with Halloween magic! Join us for Halloween on the Hill, an enchanting outdoor experience filled with glowing jack-o’-lanterns, creative seasonal displays, and family-friendly frights.

Wander our woodland trail lined with over 1,500 hand-carved themed jack-o-lantern pumpkins, larger-than-life Halloween decorations, hundreds of mums, and immersive scenes that celebrate the spooky—and the silly—sides of the season. Perfect for all ages, this self-guided walk is designed to dazzle, not scare.

A selection of seasonal treats, snacks, and beverages will be available for purchase on site. Visit our Concession Tent halfway through the trail for hot/cold apple cider, apple cider donuts, boxed water, and other festive sweets. Marble Ridge Winery will be on site and available at the start of the trail with mulled wine and sangria available for purchase.

Tickets WILL NOT be sold on site; advance purchase of tickets is required. Child ticket age 3-13; kids 2 and under are free. Ticket time represents your arrival window. Participants have a 15-minute arrival window to their ticket time. Participants should check their emails 24 hours before the event for any updates or changes to your ticket. Please be sure to check your junk or spam folders for any event-related emails, as messages may occasionally be filtered there by mistake.

FAQs:

    • I am a Trustees Member, do I need a ticket? Yes! All participants must register in advance and have a ticket to attend this event. Walk-ins will not be permitted.
    • Do children under 2 need a ticket? No. Children under 2 do not need a ticket. Children ages 3-12 need a child’s ticket.
    • Will restrooms be available for guests? Yes, we will have restrooms at check-in at the bottom of the hill and halfway through the trail at the Concessions Tent, at the top of the hill.
    • Can I change my date or time? At this time, we are unable to accommodate date or time changes.
    • Is there food at this event? Yes! Seasonal treats, freshly baked goods, sweet snacks, warm apple cider, etc. will be available for purchase at our concessions stand at the top of the hill. This is at the halfway point of the overall trail. Come hungry and enjoy a taste of the season!
    • Is the site wheelchair or stroller accessible? Unfortunately, the event is not wheelchair or stroller accessible. The trail includes several sets of stairs and uneven terrain.
    • How long does it take to walk through? On average, expect to spend about an hour walking through the property.
    • Are dogs allowed at Halloween on the Hill? No, to protect our gardens, dogs are not allowed on the property during this event.
    • Is the interior of the property open to the public during the show? Unfortunately, the house is not open during this event.
    • Is there a gift shop? We will have a retail Pop-Up Shop open at the beginning of the trail. We will be selling a variety of items for both children and adults at a variety of price points. Please note: Members receive 10% off merchandise at the Retail Pop Up Shop.
    • What should I wear? The event will take place outdoors. Please be prepared to walk through unpaved pathways on uneven terrain through the woods and gardens. Trails may be muddy or icy at times, so sturdy boots are recommended. Dress appropriately for the weather that day. Costumes encouraged!
    • Are the pumpkins real? Our Jack-O-Lanterns are all hand-carved by our staff and volunteers here at Long Hill. They are foam “fun-kins”, a more sustainable and longer lasting product.     • What is the trail route? The trail starts behind the farmhouse and up through the orchard, along the woodland trail. Then, it continues up the main road to the house and through the tent before circling back down towards the farmhouse, again along the main road.
    • What is the weather policy? This is a Rain or Shine Event. Unsafe or extreme weather will cancel this event. In the event we must cancel due to weather, guests will be notified by email and will receive further information regarding a refund or rebook (when applicable).
    • Can we tailgate at the event? To ensure the safety of all our visitors, tailgating is strictly prohibited.
