Cancelled – Language of the Stockbridge-Muns...
This event has been canceled

Saturday, October 11, 2025
Join Nikole Pecore, Language Manager for the Stockbridge-Munsee Community, and Jeremy Mohawk, Language Teacher, for an engaging exploration of the Mohican and Munsee languages and the worldviews they carry.
This interactive session invites participants to experience the language through their senses and connect deeply with the cultural knowledge and values embedded in each word. Learn how language revitalization efforts are not only preserving words but also reconnecting the community to the natural world and Indigenous identity.
This workshop will be held indoors at the Mission House, 39 Main Street, Stockbridge.
Seating will be provided.
Please note: Public restrooms are not available at this site. The Mission House will be open for self-guided tours following the program. The program is free, but pre-registration is required as space is limited. For questions about accessibility, please reach out to aduquette@thetrustees.org.
The Community Voices Series features members of the Stockbridge-Munsee Community for a lineup of programs that challenge old myths, honor enduring truths, and create space for dialogue, reflection, and learning. Each speaker brings their own lived experiences and cultural knowledge as they share their views on Native identity, history, land stewardship, and language revitalization. Join us for one, a few, or all five.
