Our children’s tour, The Cat’s Meow, is designed for children age 3-8.
Imagine living in 1929 and visiting the Crane family at their summer home in Ipswich. The house is so big and Mrs. Crane’s kitty, Ptolemy, has gone missing just before the party! Can you help a family servant find our mischievous Siamese? Once he’s found, we’ll have just enough time to dress for the party!
This tour runs on Weekends, once a day at 10:00 am, and has a run time of approximately 30-45 minutes. Children 2 and under are admitted free. In order to allow as many children to enjoy the tour as possible, each child may be accompanied by 1 (one) adult. The tour goes through the family and guest living spaces of the Great House.
We recommend arriving 15 minutes prior to your tour start time. We are unable to reschedule your tour if you are late.
Accessibility: The Grand Stair has 30 steps. We’re sorry, but there is no elevator. Headset amplifier available upon request.
Grounds admission is included in the ticket price and covers a 3-hour visit.
Try our other regularly offered guided tours, including Guest of the Cranes, Cupola with a View, and Behind the Scenes. Other specialty tours focus on the gardens, movies filmed at the Crane Estate, and all 4 Great House floors.
Ticket Exchanges/Rebooking: All rebooking will be honored prior to the day of the tour. On the day of your tour, if you are late, we may not be able to reschedule your tickets for the same day, but we will try our best.
