STOCKBRIDGE and BEVERLY, Mass. – A family fun tradition synonymous with fall returns in October as The Trustees of Reservations prepare to welcome visitors back to the Incredible Naumkeag Pumpkin Show in Stockbridge and Halloween on the Hill at Long Hill in Beverly.
The show runs from Wednesdays through Sundays at both properties and opens on Oct. 1. Long Hill’s pumpkin show will end on Oct. 30, while Naumkeag will run through Oct. 31. The Incredible Naumkeag Pumpkin Show was named “best Halloween event in America” by Time Out New York in 2025.
Cauldrons, cobwebs, fairy houses, volcanoes, thousands of hand-carved jack-o’-lanterns, mums, pumpkins, and gourds transform Naumkeag into an autumnal haven. Every year there are new and expanded displays embracing October’s mysterious magic for visitors of all ages to discover. At Long Hill, the gardens and woodland trail will feature an eerie graveyard, haunted pirate ship, stylish scarecrows, and thousands of glowing hand-carved pumpkins. Both shows offer “gently spooky” attractions appropriate for visitors of all ages.
Tickets are on sale for the signature pumpkin show events at Naumkeag and Long Hill. Timed-entry tickets must be purchased in advance. Tickets are not sold on-site.
Tickets are $32 for nonmember adults or $27 for Trustees’ member adults. Value Nights will be available on Wednesdays and Thursdays through Oct. 22, and also on Friday, Oct. 2, and Sunday, Oct. 4. Children’s tickets are $15 for nonmembers and $10 for Trustees members. On Family Value Nights at Naumkeag through Oct. 15, children are admitted for free.
For those who may benefit from a smaller crowd with on-site parking at Naumkeag, we provide a limited number of Early Hour tickets Wednesdays–Sundays from 4-5 p.m. plus 12-2 p.m. and 2-4 p.m. on select weekends. At Long Hill, those who may benefit from a quieter sensory-sensitive experience or those with limited mobility who may need an alternative path to accommodate accessibility restrictions, a limited number of tickets will be available for 4-5 p.m. on Fridays, Oct. 9 and 23.

Boo in the Barnyard at Weir River Farm in Hingham – At this family-friendly program, visitors can meet the farm animals, participate in the scavenger hunt, make a seasonal craft and enjoy a sweet treat. Visitors are encouraged to wear costumes, but please avoid ones with long capes. This program is offered Oct. 3, 10, 17, 24, and 31. A sensory-friendly Boo in the Barnyard program will be offered from 1-2 p.m. on Oct. 3, 17, and 31.
About Spirits of the Old Manse: A Candlelit Encounter with the Past at the Old Manse in Concord – Guided by candlelight, visitors will move from room to room in this 18th century home once occupied by Revolutionaries, philosophers, and writers. This is not a haunted house event, but a fully-guided experience that focuses on the stories and history of the house and how it felt to be there. This experience is best for those 10 and older. The program is offered Oct. 23, 24 and 30.
Halloween in the Morning Mist at deCordova Sculpture Park and Museum in Lincoln – From 10 a.m. to noon on Sunday, Oct. 25, deCordova welcomes families to join them to celebrate Halloween with gently ghoulish activities designed for preschoolers and toddlers. Educators will be on hand to explore the world of spiders with a collaborative rope web installation and sculptures inspired by the 8-legged arachnids.
Dog Halloween Costume Contest at deCordova Sculpture Park and Museum in Lincoln – On Sunday, Oct. 25, at 11 a.m. bring your dog in its Halloween costume to deCordova Sculpture Park and Museum to compete against other canines for special prizes for Best Human and Dog Duo Costume and Most Creative Dog Costume. Extra points will be given if your costumes are art or artist-themed.
Boo in the Barnyard at Powisset Farm in Dover – Families are invited to come out to the farm on Oct. 31 to meet the goats, sheep, chickens, and pigs. Children are encouraged to wear their Halloween costumes while they decorate a Halloween treat bag and collect goodies from the barnyard friends. Visitors can also find hidden pumpkins during the pumpkin scavenger hunt, play pumpkin toss and take a hayride.
