The Boston Community Gardens Team is hosting another hands on Master Urban Gardener (MUG) Practicum class!

This is the perfect opportunity to hone your gardening skills in an intensive and hands-on class at the peak of planting season. Explore what City Natives has to offer – from a full greenhouse setup to rare fruit trees.

This program is open to all but is suggested in tandem with our lecture course certificate class.

The cohort will be hosted weekly on Saturdays from September 19 to October 17, 9:30am-11:30am, at City Natives Greenhouse in Mattapan at 30 Edgewater Drive.

  • September 19 – Gardening Basics
    • Get your hands dirty practicing horticulture basics on City Native’s green house veggies, fruit trees, and berry bushes.
  • September 26 – Soil and Compost
    • Discover the secret to living soil and fertile compost.
  • October 3 – Pest Management
    • Diagnose common diseases plaguing your plants.
  • October 10 – Preserving the Harvest
    • Harvest spring greens and learn to make them last.
  • October 17 – Native Plant Horticulture
    • Explore City Natives nursery stock and learn what plants live where.

Price: This course will be sliding scale $0-150
