About Opening Reception – Seashores and Gardens

Join us from 1-3PM for an opening reception to “Seashores and Gardens,” a one-woman-exhibit by award winning oil painter and Massachusetts local, Mary Rose O’Connell.

Her exhibition at the Wayside Gallery consists of a curated selection of oil paintings of New England’s crashing coastlines, for which Mary Rose is especially known, along with delicate garden scenes, highlighting the stunning spectrum of the region’s natural beauty.

Classically trained in the Boston School Tradition, her work shows a strong grounding in composition and design combined with the color and light of the 19th century Impressionists. Along with being a national award-winning artist, Mary Rose also instructs students in composition and design techniques using oil, acrylic, gouache and drawing mediums.

Admission to the Wayside Gallery for the reception is free. The exhibit will be on view from September 12 through November 1.
