About Landmarks & Landscapes: Beaver Discovery at Rocky Woods

Gather family or friends for a guided evening walk at Rocky Woods and discover the busy beavers of Echo Pond. As the sun skims the pond’s surface, we’ll settle in to watch the day quietly come to a close. Listen for bird calls, the splash of beaver tails, and the haunting call of the Barred Owl. Along the way, we’ll learn about the beaver’s industrious nature and remarkable underwater skills.

The walk route will be determined based on trail conditions and other factors. This program is weather‑permitting. Please note that some Rocky Woods trails include uneven terrain and minor elevation changes.

This program is recommended for ages 7 and up. Children must be accompanied by an adult. While Rocky Woods is a dog‑friendly property, dogs are not permitted on this walk. Please wear weather‑appropriate clothing (long pants, long‑sleeved shirt, and a light sweater) and sturdy footwear suitable for uneven, potentially wet or muddy trails. Snacks, water, and bug spray are strongly recommended.

Pre‑registration is strongly encouraged, as space is limited.

Cancellation Policy: In the event The Trustees cancels a program due to severe weather, low enrollment, or other circumstances, we will notify registrants by email and issue a full refund or transfer to another scheduled program within two weeks of the cancellation. To cancel a reservation, please contact rockywoods@thetrustees.org 7 days prior to the start of the program to receive a full refund. Refunds and transfers will not be granted for cancellations placed fewer than 7 days before the start of the program.
