About Scenic Songs: A Hiking Concert with Nora Meier, Alouette Batteau, & Nicolás Emden

Calling all hiking enthusiasts and music lovers! Join us on the trail with incredible performing artists for guided hikes and intimate live music experiences like no other. These unplugged and acoustic shows are unique opportunities to enjoy live music in community and nature.

On May 16th, join Nora Meier, Alouette Batteau, & Nicolás Emden on the trail at Fruitlands Museum. This special series opener showcasing emerging artists offers a unique preview of Club Passim’s Campfire Festival.

Nora Meier is a diehard music fan, a frequent moviegoer, a daughter of two English majors, an Oregonian at heart, a verbal processor, a big reader, extremely stubborn, and always writing. She was raised on her dad’s curated mixtapes and epic vinyl collection, which cultivated her deep love for the format of The Album and an obsession with Bruce Springsteen. Her debut album, Outfield, was released in October 2024—tracked in seven days on a farm in Connecticut with the help of some of her favorite musicians. Nora lives in Boston, Massachusetts.

Alouette Batteau is a vocalist and songwriter, best known as one-third of Kalliope Jones (with Isabella DeHerdt and Wes Chalfant), a post-rock power trio from Western Massachusetts. Originally a folk-rock group, Kalliope Jones has developed its soundscape to bend gender-genre-genius from r&b, pop punk, and alt indie. The band has performed at the Falcon Ridge Folk Festival, the Iron Horse Music Hall, the Wolftrap Center for Performing Arts, Club Passim, and Dar Williams’ River Roads Festival, sharing stages with Amy Ray, Shawn Colvin, and Lisa Loeb.

Nicolás Emden is a talented multi-instrumentalist, composer, singer, and songwriter hailing from Chilean Patagonia. His music navigates the waters of pop, rock, and South American folk, creating a distinctive South Americana indie folk rock sound with evocative Spanish lyrics. Emden began his musical journey at the age of six through South American folk and church music, and later founded the Chilean band Tejado Pimiento. Since moving to Boston in 2014 to study at Berklee College of Music, he has performed and toured throughout the United States, Canada, and Chile. In 2023, Nicolás won the World Act of the Year at the New England Music Awards and was selected as an Iguana Fund recipient of Club Passim in Cambridge, MA.

Fruitlands Museum Trail Hiking Details- Moderate

For this program, guests will hike about 2.5 miles through the Fruitlands Museum Trail system, with a mixture of flat paths and limited periods of moderate uphill climbs. A little over mid-way through the hike, we will stop at a vista to enjoy fully unplugged sets from each of the artists with the Nashua Valley, Mount Wachusett, and Monadnock Range as a backdrop.

Trail snacks provided. We recommend that guests bring a portable camp stool or blanket for seating during the live music set. We will also have a limited number of camp stools available for use.

Please note, audience size for this intimate offering is limited and pre-registration is required.

We are pleased to be collaborating with Passim for the 2026 Scenic Songs Series.
