Join Adventure East for a guided woodland walk at the William Cullen Bryant Homestead in Cummington, MA. This walk explores one of Western Massachusetts’ most remarkable forest landscapes. Your naturalist guide will introduce the area’s towering white pines, ancient hemlocks, and diverse hardwoods while sharing the natural history, forest ecology, and cultural significance of this historic property.
Together, we will explore the historic landscape surrounding the homestead of poet and conservationist William Cullen Bryant. You will learn how to recognize old-growth traits such as canopy layers, coarse woody debris, and diverse understory structure.
This hike is for ages 12 and up. This hike is suitable for beginners and casual hikers who are comfortable walking on gentle woodland trails for approximately two hours.
