Learning with Livestock at Appleton Farms
Join us for open and free programming and demonstrations every Saturday in May! Meet the animals of Appleton, learn about why farmers keep animals, and the role they play alongside us on the farm. These rotating family-friendly farm education sessions are for all ages- kids and adults alike! Information is geared towards 3+. Come to one or stay for all three; no registration required. Scheduled 45-minute sessions open to the public, each focused-on learning about different species of livestock animals.
Morning Sessions:
Child friendly fun demonstrations at our Carriage barn about what makes each of our animals so unique.
Afternoon Sessions:
Geared for older children (10+) and adults. What makes cattle so cool? Come learn about our herds and our grass-fed beef production. This program involves walking across uneven and hilly terrain, and focuses on beef production, agroecology, and farm history content.
