About Turtles, Tadpoles and More! on the Quequechan River Rail Trail

Come and explore one of Fall River’s natural wetlands on the Quequechan River and participate in the Greater Fall River City Nature Challenge! This City Nature Challenge is a part of a free 4 day worldwide event where the public helps conservation science, by taking photos of wild organisms in their community and uploading them to iNaturalist – a website dedicated to identifying wildlife, for everyone!

In the Greater Fall River area, The Trustees and Mass Audubon are teaming up to make it simple for everyone to join in. We’re hosting four free guided walks through different local habitats during the event, from April 24 to April 27. On this walk we will learn how to download and use the iNaturalist mobile app and explore the Quequechan River Rail Trail to make observations of different freshwater species of plants, animals and fungi. Please consider also joining us at one of our other guided walks!

  • Friday April 24, 10:00AM to 12:00PM – Tree ID Walk on the Tattapanum Trail
  • Saturday April 25, 12:00PM to 2:00PM – Turtles, Tadpoles and More! on the Quequechan River Rail Trail
  • Sunday April 26, 12:00PM to 2:00PM – Woodland Walk in the Copicut Woods
  • Monday April 27, 3:00PM to 5:00PM – Urban Wildlife Watching at Kennedy Park

No experience needed. Just bring your curiosity and a phone or camera. Every observation helps track biodiversity and supports wildlife conservation in your community!
