Calling all artists – beginners and masters!
Rutland Washington (Gazebo) Community Garden is opening its doors from 10am to 11am on August 16th for artists to capture its essence, from its blooming summertime flowers to its historic brick architecture.
At 10am we will meet at the central gazebo to do a short talk led by Max, and to distribute materials. The Trustees will be providing pencils, paint, brushes, paper, and clipboards. Please feel free to bring materials you would like to work with or share with others from home.
Participants will then be set loose to explore the garden and create either observational or imaginative art inspired by the garden until the end of the hour.
This event is offered on a sliding scale, $0-20.
Rutland Washington Community Garden is located at 1553 Washington St. in the South End, Boston. The closest T Station is the Back Bay or Mass Ave Orange Line stops, and a bus stop directly in front of the garden on Washington St. There is 2-hour metered parking all along Washington St.
The garden is fairly accessible with wide stone dust pathways. There is a small step up to the gazebo, and seating may be limited.
