About Full Moon Creatures of the Night Hike at Lyman Reserve

Join us for a magical Full Moon Creatures of the Night Hike as we explore the fascinating world of nocturnal wildlife! Under the glow of the full moon, we’ll explore the fascinating world of nocturnal wildlife—from the stealthy owl to the chorus of frogs, rustling mammals, and more.

As we wander the trails, we’ll talk about the unique adaptations that allow these creatures to thrive in the dark and learn how to tune into the sounds, shapes, and signs of nighttime activity. Whether it’s the hoot of an owl, the scurry of unseen feet, or the rustle of wind in the trees, the full moon creates the perfect backdrop for experiencing nature in a whole new light.

This guided walk is designed for curious minds and nature lovers of all ages. Bring your sense of adventure—and maybe a flashlight!

First time at Lyman? Lyman’s one-and-a-half-mile loop trail winds its way from the parking lot to Red Brook, inviting deeper exploration of the reserve’s freshwater wetlands, pine barrens, and sandy beach; a quarter-mile trail across Head of the Bay Road provides a scenic jaunt through maritime scrub oak and pine to the beach. On this hike, you will enjoy the scenic routes as the sun sets before nature’s transition to night, when we will let stars be our guide.

Pre-registration is required for this event. In the event of cancellation, you will be notified via the email address you used to register and refunded in full within 14 business days. Tickets are non-transferable and non-refundable.

We love our furry friends, however, dogs are not permitted in this program.
