About A Sweet Year with Joan Nathan: Family Cooking Class and Lunch
Celebrate Joan Nathan’s new cookbook, A Sweet Year: Jewish Celebrations and Festive Recipes for Kids and Their Families: A Cookbook, with this hands-on family cooking class! Together with Joan we’ll be making two recipes from her book, Watermelon Corn Cucumber Feta Salad, as well as a sweet treat, Golda Meir Chocolate Chip Cookies. Each group will make their own batch so they are able to enjoy some outside on our picnic tables as a communal lunch, as well as take some home. We’ll also have chicken schnitzel tenders from her book prepared to round out the lunch.
Each pair will receive a copy of the book included in the ticket price with an opportunity to have Joan sign it.
A Sweet Year has been called a LA Times best cookbook of the year, a Strategist best cookbook to gift this year, and the “queen of American Jewish cooking” revises her children’s classic for a new generation from the Houston Chronicle.
This class is recommended for ages 4 & up. Pre-registration is required for all Farm Institute cooking classes. Please contact us with any allergy or food accommodation requests at thefarminstitute@thetrustees.org or if you’d like to join as a member and receive discounted programming.

Program Refunds/Cancellations: In the event that a program is cancelled due to severe weather, low enrollment, or other circumstances, we will notify you as soon as possible by email and issue you a full refund within 14 days of the cancellation. If you cannot attend a program as planned, contact thefarminstitute@thetrustees.org at least 7 days prior to the start of the program to receive a full refund or transfer to another date/class. Refunds and/or class transfers will not be granted for registration cancellations placed fewer than 7 days before the start of the program. There are no refunds for missed classes.
