This Women’s History Month, join us for a month-long, farm-grown celebration of one of history’s most iconic female chefs, Julia Child, and her cuisine.
Julia Child knew the five mother sauces are an essential part of any chef’s expertise, and she worked hard to master each one. The mother sauces — Béchamel, Velouté, Espagnole, Hollandaise, and Tomate – are the starting point for many classic French dishes. In this hands-on class, Chef Thi will introduce you to the five mother sauces and pair each one with a simple dish to demonstrate how the sauce can be either the star or the starting point for culinary greatness. Let’s all get saucy together!

Pre-registration is required. Registration closes 24 hours prior to class. Minimum of 6 people required for class to take place. Please Note: Powisset is NOT a nut-free or gluten-free kitchen.

Cancellation Policy: In the event The Trustees cancels a program due to severe weather, low enrollment, or other circumstances, we will notify registrants by email and issue a full refund or transfer to another scheduled program within two weeks of the cancellation. To cancel a reservation, please contact Powisset Farm 7 days prior to the start of the program to receive a full refund. Refunds and transfers will not be granted for cancellations placed fewer than 7 days before the start of the program.
