About Farmer for a Day: Winter Break Drop-Off for Kids at Appleton Farms

Ever wanted to know what a farmer’s life is like? Find out at Appleton Farms for one or more of our “Farmer for a Day” drop-off programs!

In the holiday week before New Year’s, we’ll be exploring a farmer’s life through authentic barnyard chores, fun-filled farm adventures, and traditional crafts. On one day, your child may learn about our grassfed beef cattle herd and meet farmers on pasture. On another, they’ll discover the many types of wildlife on the farm and learn about animal tracking. Every day, they’ll explore the forests and fields of Appleton, enjoy a craft and a story, and get their hands dirty with animal chores!

This is an educational morning drop-off program for children ages 5-11 from 9am to 3 pm. You may select between one and four days to join “Farmer for a Day.” Program days are 12/26, 12/27, 12/30, and 12/31.

Children should be prepared to spend days mostly outdoors and should pack lunch, a snack, and a water bottle. Caregivers will be contacted after registration with more detailed program information and to complete required drop-off programming paperwork.
