About The Man Who Made Queen Victoria Smile: A Naumkeag House Tour
Join us for a jaunt through Naumkeag, the Gilded Age, and the life of Joseph Choate, a prominent attorney and ambassador to the UK during the reigns of Queen Victoria and her son, King Edward VII.
On this special house tour, learn about Choate’s influential career and bittersweet personal life as you explore his summer home, Naumkeag, with our expert guide.
After the tour, relax in the gardens for themed cocktails and refreshments from our Cafe.
Please note:
- Preregistration is required.
- This tour is limited to 12 participants and is not recommended for children under 13.
- The tour begins at 4 pm and lasts about 1 hour. Guests are advised to arrive at least 15 minutes early but can check in at anytime before 4.
- Afterwards, spend time exploring the gardens and enjoying refreshments from the Rose Garden Cafe. The property will close at 6 pm.
- General admission to the property is included with your ticket.
