About Sensory-Friendly Fun at the Pond at Rocky Woods

As the weather gets cooler there’s a lot happening in the ponds of Rocky Woods!

Dragonflies are flying, frogs and turtles are slowing down, and birds are looking for food. Join us on a sensory-friendly hike to one of the beautiful ponds at Rocky Woods. We will look at pond life up close using magnifying glasses and investigate life around the pond using binoculars. We may even dip a net into the pond to see what we can find!

Make a day of it by packing a picnic and enjoying lunch at one of the tables around the pond!

This program offers a reduced number of guests and a quieter sensory-friendly environment. Any family that would benefit from a limited capacity visit is welcome. If you have any questions or concerns, please reach out to Stacie at skorroch@thetrustees.org.

Resources available for your visit include a limited number of special sensory kits. We strongly encourage participants to bring anything they expect to need.

Please note, although we love our four-legged friends, dogs are not allowed at this program.

Cancellation Policy:  In the event The Trustees cancels a program due to severe weather, low enrollment, or other circumstances, we will notify registrants by email and issue a full refund or transfer to another scheduled program within two weeks of the cancellation. To cancel a reservation, please contact us 7 days prior to the start of the program to receive a full refund. Refunds and transfers will not be granted for cancellations placed fewer than 7 days before the start of the program.
