We are grateful that the conference committee invested in open space, outdoor recreation, ecological restoration, and climate action as part of a final package on economic development and relief, including funds particularly for environmental justice communities.
With many priorities to balance, the committee navigated an unprecedented process and delivered necessary solutions that will produce benefits for physical health and well-being, mental health, natural systems, climate resilience, and more.
We thank legislative leaders for their vision and leadership, and we are excited for the momentum this provides for nature-based climate solutions in the 2023-24 session.
