Janetta Stringfellow

Chief Development Officer, The Trustees

Janetta Stringfellow currently serves as the Chief Development Officer. In this role, she oversees development, fundraising and donor engagement across The Trustees.

Janetta is deeply committed to The Trustees’ mission to protect special places and connect people to those special places and has been a Trustees’ member for many years. Janetta brings significant expertise and experience in building strategic partnerships as well as leading major gift solicitation and capital campaigns. She is a strong culture champion who has built inclusive development teams that build bridges, promote a strong work ethic, and generate a sense of belonging. She is a 25-year veteran fundraiser for educational institutions, horticulture, and public media who began her career as a television producer for National Geographic and Viacom. Prior to joining The Trustees, she served as the Chief Development Officer for PRX, a leader in public media and podcasting. Prior to PRX, Janetta was the Director of Institutional Advancement at the Arnold Arboretum of Harvard University, helping to steward the living collections, educational programs, and research facilities of the 281-acre preserve in the heart of Olmsted’s Emerald Necklace. She also directed development at Boston’s Commonwealth School for 15 years.

Janetta has a master’s degree in creative writing and literature from the Harvard Extension School and is working on a memoir. She lives in Marblehead, Massachusetts, where she spends much of the summer sculling from Crowninshield Island to Misery Island for early morning swims.
