Support Nature for All

Nature for Massachusetts

The Trustees and a coalition of organizations across the Commonwealth are championing a Nature for All fund, without raising taxes.

Massachusetts has the opportunity to lead the way on climate change, conserving nature, protecting wildlife, and creating more access to special places for everyone: not only to reach our climate goals, but to create a safer, more sustainable future for generations to come.

An Act Providing Nature for All and the companion Protect Water and Nature Ballot Initiative would create a permanent Nature for All Fund for the purposes of acquisition, restoration or improvement of nature to create parks and trails; protect forests, farms, wildlife habitat, and water resources; and advance climate resiliency and environmental justice goals.

By setting aside just a portion of the revenue already generated from the existing sales tax on sporting goods, we would be able to dedicate more than $100 million every year for the Fund without any increase in taxes.

Get involved! If lawmakers don’t act this legislative session, we’re ready to bring this issue directly to voters through a 2026 ballot question, by pursuing the Protect Water and Nature Initiative. The Coalition passed its first milestone of collecting 100,000 signatures last fall. Help us get 20,000 more signatures this May through early June. Sign up to help collect signatures at Trustees locations or from your local community. Training is provided and it’s easy to do!
