About Family-Friendly Tour of the Old Manse

Step into the incredible world of The Old Manse, a stunning 254-year-old house that witnessed the dawn of the American Revolutionary War and served as a sanctuary for renowned writers and artists! Join us for a special 30-minute tour designed just for families with young adventurers. Experience history like never before as you explore how people lived in the past, marvel at fascinating artifacts from the Revolutionary era, and get hands-on with a magnificent piano that’s over 160 years old! Plus, embark on an exciting scavenger hunt with your guide to uncover hidden treasures throughout this historic gem. Perfect for children ages 6 and up, this tour promises unforgettable fun and learning for the whole family!

This tour is designed for children ages six and older. Space is limited and advanced registration is recommended. Upon arrival, please check in at the bookstore. It is recommended to arrive 10-15 before your tour starts.

The historic house has several flights of steep stairs and is not wheelchair accessible. Please note, there is no public restroom on site at the Old Manse and the restrooms at the National Park are closed, restrooms are available nearby at the Concord Visitor’s Center. Please plan accordingly. Parking is available in front of the museum in The Old Manse parking lot.

Cancellation Policy: In the event The Trustees cancels a program due to severe weather, low enrollment, or other circumstances, we will notify registrants by email and issue a full refund or transfer to another scheduled program within two weeks of the cancellation. To cancel a reservation, please contact the Old Manse 7 days prior to the start of the program to receive a full refund. Refunds and transfers will not be granted for cancellations placed fewer than 7 days before the start of the program.  As a general policy, The Trustees does not issue refunds for weather-shortened programs, in keeping with our standard approach to outdoor programs and the unpredictability of New England weather.
