The Explore! North Shore hiking series will get you outside and moving at some lesser explored Trustees properties across the region, at the right time of year to really see these special places shine. These beginner hikes will be not too strenuous, and offer frequent stops for learning and taking in the beauty of our special places.
Join the Trustees for an evening journey up Holt Hill under the light of the full moon. Together, we will trek up the trail as night falls, and gather at the top beneath the moon & stars. Enjoy the sights, sounds, smells, and unique tastes of evening in the magic of Ward Reservation. We will share stories and tales about the moon and its effect on people throughout time.
All children must be accompanied by an adult. This is appropriate for adventurous kids as young as 6 years old, but is geared towards learners of all ages including adults. Please be aware that we do walk in the dark during a large portion of the event. As such, adult discretion on your child’s ability to manage this activity is advised.
Be sure to wear weather-appropriate clothing and boots or shoes that are appropriate for hiking in potentially wet, snowy and muddy spots, or over uneven terrain. Flashlights will not be provided. Should you prefer to have one, please provide your own. Light levels will depend on cloud coverage. All hikes are weather permitting. This hike has an easy level of difficulty on moderately hilly terrain, expect it to last approximately 2 hours. We recommend you bring your own water bottle.
Space is limited for this event and pre-registration is required.
