About Appleton Farms Star Party

Join us for a star party with the North Shore Astronomy Club. Club members will bring telescopes and expertise to help us explore and view the dark sky from our farm fields near our farm store. Bring your binoculars, scopes, star‑finding apps, and curiosity.

This event takes place at the CSA Barn. As you enter the property, please bear left at the guard shack.

Please arrive between 8:00–8:30PM, with night sky viewing beginning at 8:30PM. Two optional ~20-minute hikes out to the pasture will be offered in addition to stargazing. If you plan to join a pasture walk, please sign up at the check in table.

This event is open to all ages, children and adults alike. Tickets are required for each individual.

We also recommend bringing:

• bug spray

• a water bottle

• extra layers

• Absolutely no light up kid’s shoes allowed.

During the program, we may be able to observe:

• double star systems

• quadruple and larger star systems

• open clusters (collections of 100 to 1,000 stars in our galaxy)

• globular clusters (collections of hundreds of thousands of stars orbiting our galaxy)

• nebulae, including star-forming regions and remnants of exploded stars
