About Urban Wild Trackers: Leatherbee Woods

We’re looking to build a group of volunteers who want to learn phenology, the study of seasonal changes in plants and wildlife, and spend time in this Urban Wild noticing how things change over time.

Urban Wild Trackers meets twice a month and invites you to get outside and pay attention to what’s happening in the landscape. From leaf-out and flowering to animal activity, we’ll track how the site changes throughout the seasons. What we notice helps support how this space is cared for over time.

Sessions are led by staff trained in phenology monitoring through Nature’s Notebook.

No experience needed. This is open to anyone who wants to spend time outdoors, learn something new, and be part of caring for local green spaces.

Location: Leatherbee Woods is accessible from Broadlawn Park Apartments, Hancock Woods Reservation, and the Hoar Wildlife Sanctuary. The exact meeting point will be shared after registration.
