Calling all hiking enthusiasts and music lovers! Join us on the trail with some of your favorite performing artists for guided hikes and intimate live music experiences like no other. These unplugged and acoustic shows are unique opportunities to enjoy live music in community and nature.
On August 1st, join Sweet Petunia on the trail at Appleton Farms.
Sweet Petunia is a Boston-based alternative folk duo composed of Mairead Guy and Maddy Simpson. The pair met while attending Berklee College of Music in 2018 and bonded over a shared love of Simon & Garfunkel and Gillian Welch & Dave Rawlings. Since forming, the duo has earned two Boston Music Awards nominations for Best Folk Act and performed at festivals including Between Days and Nice, a Fest. Their debut LP, Foggy Mountain Mental Breakdown, is out on Righteous Babe Records—a collection of songs written during a period of growing pains, reflecting on breakups, outgrown friendships, and self-discovery. The album pays homage to the traditional folk that shaped the duo while drawing on their local punk and DIY scene for a contemporary twist.
Appleton Farms Trail Hike Details: Easy
For this program, guests will hike about 2.5 miles round trip, starting out from the Farmhouse parking area. Our path will bring us around The Plains Loop along mostly flat carriage paths with some uneven surfaces and one stretch across grass. About 1.5 miles into our walk, we will stop along our route at the Prince of Wales Allay to enjoy Sweet Petunia’s unplugged acoustic set nestled under the shade of the trees.
Trail snacks provided. We recommend that guests bring a portable camp stool or blanket for seating during the live music set. We will also have a limited number of camp stools available for use.
Please note, audience size for this intimate offering is limited and pre-registration is required.
In the event of inclement weather, a rain date has been held for this program on Sunday, August 2nd. Any scheduling changes will be communicated to registered guests via email.
