About Gather, Hunt, Protect: Our Connection to Land and Wildlife
Travis Spice shares how traditional hunting, fishing, trapping, and gathering practices continue to thrive within the Stockbridge-Munsee Community—and how they are carried out today with deep respect for sustainability and balance.
Learn about the wildlife and plants harvested, the seasonal knowledge that guides these practices, and the efforts taken to ensure that resources are not overused. Travis will also discuss land stewardship projects aimed at restoring natural habitats to their original state, reflecting a worldview rooted in responsibility, reciprocity, and respect for the land.
This program will be held outdoors at the Mission House, or may be moved indoors in inclement weather. Limited chairs will be available, feel free to bring your own lawn chairs or blankets.
Please note: Public restrooms are not available at this site. The Mission House will be open for self-guided tours following the program. The program is free, but pre-registration is required as space is limited. For questions about accessibility, please reach out to aduquette@thetrustees.org.
