About Waterfall Hike: Bullitt Reservation to Chapel Brook with Adventure East

Come explore the local forests and waterfalls with our expert senior naturalist guide. On this Adventure you will have the opportunity to explore two astounding Trustees properties!

Chapel Brook—a tributary of the South River— meanders through a dense hardwood forest before cascading over three bedrock ledges. In times of high water, Chapel Falls are in full roar.

Bullitt Reservation, once a poor farm and then later part of the country retreat of first U.S. Ambassador to the Soviet Union, William C. Bullitt, and his daughter Ann, this eye-pleasing blend of fields and farm buildings, mixed woodlands, and streams forms a crucial link in almost 3,000 acres of protected land that shelters state-protected species.

This moderate 3.5-mile journey is sure to be a true adventure! Time spent in nature has been proven to improve cognitive and mental health benefits, as well as improvements in mood and emotional well-being. Let’s go on an adventure and reconnect with nature!

“Reciprocity is rooted in the understanding that we are not alone, that the Earth is populated by non-human persons, wise and inventive beings deserving of our respect.” Robin Wall Kimmerer
